| New LED lighting system allows more energy efficient lights |
|
Although the city lights to illuminate the road , but at the same time it also brings a lot of light pollution and energy waste, but has long been criticized though but no solution. However, according to reports , there are a group of Liangzi China Taiwan and Mexico, consisting of researchers developed a new lighting system, which through the efficient use of LED, to ensure lights only illuminate the light where needed , without creating other non- the necessary light.
"This new LED system is a unique feature is its ability to adapt to different street street layout , for a variety of streets and roads to provide efficient lighting" involved in the study of China Taiwan Central University Optoelectronic Science and Engineering Professor Sun Qingcheng said.
The new street lighting system consists of three parts . The first part contains a list of the light emitting diodes , each of them is equipped with a condition known as total internal reflection lens (TIR) of the apparatus , its role is to bring together the light , precise control of the beam direction , so that the light is emitted are not mutually parallel cross .
The lens is mounted in a reflecting cavity , the role is to recycle light , to ensure that they can be used to illuminate a target more , which is the second part of the system . The third part is the outermost layer of the light filtering means , which is to reduce the unwanted glare . With this unique structure , the researchers can control the shape of the beam , the current preliminary design of a rectangular beam shape , very suitable for road lighting.
Researchers use light utilization (OUF) to quantify the performance of lights , street lamps light the better the performance the higher utilization . Computer simulation results show that the new street lighting system light efficiency can reach 51% to 81 %, far more than the current 45% of ordinary street . In addition, compared with the traditional lights , the new lights brighter , more energy efficient , easy to produce glare and light pollution. |
